Lockdown Art For A Cause

Imagine having all your work stop because of COVID-19. What do you do? Well, my pal kept busy by creating a limited edition commemorative colouring book bursting with the nation’s favourite COVID-19 legends. And guess what they have raised over 20k for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital – Yaaaas sister!

Introducing Sabina Gran…

Amazing artist and illustrator Sabina lost her income as a result of the virus. Instead of floundering, she used her time to create these beautiful keepsake colouring-in posters to help others reduce anxiety and stress through creativity. Sabina was sharing the posters on her social media so people could download and get colouring

“My lifelong friend Anna Plotnek owns a creative agency called PLOTT in Coleshill (where we’re both from), she saw the free download colouring sheets I was doing on my social media and approached me with the idea to create a colouring book with these & a few more in…

Anyway, she persuaded the printer to print at cost & along with a couple of other local businesses they’ve sponsored it so that 100% of the proceeds go to NHS charities…her brother worked on the graphics.”

What’s in the book?

From our NHS angels to Captain Tom Moore, they have carefully selected those who have stood-up to make a difference, or to those who have given us a welcome distraction, such as Joe Exotic. They picked the faces people will remember when they look back at these crazy times

They have printed the colouring-in book at a whopping A3 size to give the best impact and satisfying result for the person colouring in. They include Captain Tom Moore, Her Majesty the Queen, Joe Wicks, Joe Exotic and 4 more dedicated to the NHS.

News Flash!

They have had some amazing coverage – ITV News and the BBC.  I saw that DJ Jeremy Healy got his hands on one too and other legends such as Michael Skinner from the Streets and Caldia Winkleman are after copies too!

They have also had praise from West Midlands mayor Andy Street – “fantastic initiative”

Who is the book aimed at?

Creatives of all ages will adore making their very own masterpieces to treasure forever. All you need to go with your book is colouring pencils or pens

How much do cost and where will profits go?

They are selling these for £10 each via the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity’s website. Every penny goes to charity but they do need to charge £2.95 for standard postage.

how can I get one?

Head over to Lockdown Legends to get your copy. They would love to see your finished designs on Sabina’s Grandeluxe Facebook or Instagram page.

If you love Sabina’s Lockdown Legends drawings then do check her out on Insta. I admire all her work from painted shop windows, to giant colouring-in boards at events, to personalised leather jackets, bridal shoes and trainers. This girl definitely knows how to work a Posca pen!
